Your location sets where you are. You can use the first part of your postcode, ie M50 or SG13 or you can use your town or city. If you search without changing 'Distance' then your results are national. You can reduce the distance the vehicle is located using the 'Distance' tab.
Our users have fed back, and the quickest way to find a van/truck is to use the key word (ie Transit Tipper) and then use the filters to adjust price and distance from you.
Keywords are used across the commercial sites as the stock listed for sale is vast and varied. You can be very general and search 'Tipper', or you can be very specific and search '2004 Daily Dropside', either way, you can then refine the results using the tabs on the left of the results.
We have changed the site because the technology of the old site was over ten years old. We have to look forward and make changes which will help Auto Trader remain the number one motoring website for the next ten years and in doing so have added far greater search functionality to allow you to find the best trucks to suit your needs.
Our customer research showed that the majority of people preferred a full page when looking at details of a vehicle. However you can still open vehicle details in a new window, simply click on the 'Show details in a new window' link in the bottom left hand corner.
The new website brings in loads of new search features, like keyword search, gallery view and part exchange. This change didn't fit in to the old look and feel, so we have given our vehicles a much needed face lift!
We have altered the navigation based on extensive analysis of our visitors' behaviour. We have tried to group content and services more logically and neatly to provide an optimum experience.
The new Truck Trader site has been tested in all major browsers and will work fine in them. For optimal performance however please note that Firefox 3.X, and Internet Explorer versions 7 and 8 are the most effective.
