Apparently the local authorities have placed an order for six more Unimog U500s with 4-wheel steering.

The only reason for using this picture is in case anyone in the UK is suffering from severe weather withdrawal symptoms! After the last two years of record snowfalls in this country, the current Winter season has been relatively mild – so far!

This Mercedes-Benz Unimog is currently in action on the German/Austrian border clearing snow on the Alpine roads in the Montafon and Vorarlberg regions.

This actual vehicle is on constant use throughout the year working on road and crash barrier cleaning, grass verge mowing and now snow clearing where the four wheel steering is an added bonus for the four wheel drive system.
